Weschler 59-75

After reading all of these "discoveries" Weschler makes after within each section we read, to me it seems that Weschler's biggest claim is that the Museum of Jurassic Technology serves a similar purpose as the Wunderkammern that he described early on in the reading. Overall, the museum seemed similar to a Wunderkammern because of its ability to incite so much wonder in the people that visit it, having an almost artistic approach as opposed to an informational one. It appeared that regardless of each and every aspect of the museum being correct or true, it sparked a curiosity and visitors are still left to wonder about the truth behind each exhibition. Because this is mostly speculation based off the experience of the author, the only thing left to believe in order to accept this claim is that his reaction of "what is this place?" was sincere. Weschler writes how the museum seems to serve the purpose of "wow"-ing people, making them question the facts that are being presented to them because that was his response to the museum. While most museums don't make us doubt what we are learning about, this one made Weschler question and fact-check. Instead of coming to a conclusion that Mr. Wilson is some delusional man, or possibly conning people into giving him money for a false museum, Weschler's attitude towards the museum is that it does serve an honest purpose, which is to entertain visitors in a way most museums generally don't.
