Redfield 24-34

In contrast to the previous assigned reading, Redfield definitely gets down to a point in these ten pages. With support from secondary sources of other anthropologists' studies and research, he talks about the complicated subject that is peasant life.  Redfield gives several examples of different types of peasant life, but hones in on one specific definition.  He then goes on to talk about the complexity that is peasant life, and what makes a peasant unique in comparison to the rest of society.  Ultimately, the purpose of this section was to exemplify the complexities of society and to help the reader to think about societies as big communities made up of little cultures within the society.
