Weschler -100

Continuing on from the last section of reading Weschler keeps the difference between reality and fiction at the forefront of his writings, and goes on to tell about the history of wonder and how it is linked with the human condition. Including a lot of second source material and even some third source, he highlights how wonder is a part of human learning and how doubt is a very essential part to the learning process. After reading much of this and how there is many nods to the possibility that David Wilson had also gone through much of the same source that Weschler had (instances where exhibits in MJT or Wilson's stories are mentioned) I am brought to believe that "wonder" is wholly the purpose of the MJT and therefore this book. I cannot help but hypothesize that Wilson knows full well that much of what is in his Museum is not true, something that Weschler has suggested many times, and has purposefully twisted what is in such a way that you cannot help experiencing wonder. In a previous passage of the book, Wilson remarks how it may be easy to "peel" the museums layers, but how it's "reality behind" is "more amazing than anything those inital layer purport to be" and how "the first layers are just a filter". A filter set to weed out those who blindly believe, those who question, and those who firmly don't believe?
