Redfield 24-34

Redfield brings in secondary research to delve into a different idea of culture, one that is made up of many pieces, and uses "peasant culture" to relay this idea of mutually exclusive smaller bubbles of culture. There is a feeling of distance between Redfield and the people he studies, and there is a strong idea of finding basic versions of civilization (not using the word "primitive", but basically using the word "primitive") in order to understand more "advanced" cultures. There is a strong idea of roles, of the frontiers people, the hunters and gatherers, the townsfolk. All of these roles comes together to form a culture.
