Boo 25-50

Again, Boo provides great detail in her writing. She goes into even further detail of the dynamic among the families of the slums, otherwise known as Annawadi. Instead of focusing primarily on Abdul again, she introduces Sunil, doing something similar, in that she describes events unfolding through the eyes of this orphaned boy. As he takes his sister away from the orphanage, and makes sure that they both have something to eat, Sunil is being shown in a little bit of a contrast to Abdul. While Abdul knows of his responsibility to his family, and the love he has for his siblings is obvious, Sunil appears to have a stronger sense of obligations, as more is apparently on the line for him, than it had been for Abdul. Sunil, having no family but his sister, and having little ways of obtaining food for each of them, has a lot on his shoulders as such a young man. Asha, too, is another character we see more depth from. Being a strong girl with a lot of determination to succeed in the largest way (compared to even Abdul's brother who wants to work in a hotel), she struggles a lot in trying to get her family to the best position possible.
