Immediately, Boo's writing style is captivating. Her descriptions of the slums and the people surrounding her are presented in a way that's interesting and relatable. She writes for the audience she is targeting. Her ethnographic reporting is done in a manner that doesn't seem like reporting at all, but instead she tells a story. Her primary research is her eye and the people she interacts with on a daily basis. I think that gives her story substance and accountability. This book is already more interesting than Mr. Wilson's Cabinet of Wonder because there aren't countless facts and scientists' names being throw at me to remember or think valid and reputable. I am interested to keep reading more about Boo's adventures and thoughts on Indian culture.
