In the reading, Katherine Boo isn’t one for writing with secondary research. She is an incredible writer and writes in a way that makes it sound more like story telling rather that a research novel. She must have done a lot of secondary research before hand dealing with the culture and language before her studies. The research she does is mostly first hand and we are almost able to hear the voices of the characters come through her writing. I think if Boo were to add in a great amount of secondary research it would take away from the storyline of the book. Yes, it is a informative research book, it still has a sense of a storyline that would get thrown off.
