End of Boo

Honestly, I really didn't like the ending of Behind the Beautiful Forevers.  Everything is left so unfinished, as if Boo just up and left one day.  Actually, that is probably what she did.  Nevertheless, the reader is left with so many questions, such as what could have happened to Abdul, as he was left in jail while his father and sister were set free.  The book also leaves us with a small bitter taste in our mouths, as Manju gets into her mother's business when you thought she'd be free of that life like she planned, and when Asha loses her strong will and gives up her dream of being a slumlord.  It is especially heart breaking, because we are never going to know what happened to these people, whose lives we have become so aware of.  I guess, though, that this is just a testament to life, as life isn't full of happy endings.  It is full of unanswered questions and mystery, and things often don't go as planned.
