The question of Boo picking sides in reference to social status in the Anawadi slum came up and I think she could not accurately depict both sides. I think she had to choose one and stick to it in order to not only be fair, but to be relatable and accountable with her research. I don't think it would be possible to be an outsider trying to delve into both realms of that slum world. She chose to identify and learn about the lower class and their struggles and she did an excellent job representing it in a way that did not seem skewed or too opinionated. The story has been a heartbreaking journey and it is apparent that it was something very close and sincere to Boo's heart.
