Boo: 176-199

The celebration of Navrati is really looked forward to during this time. We see how everyone prepares by cleaning and cooking the food for the festival. This occasion seems to make life more enjoyable on this day of worshipping the Hindu goddess Durga. However, Boo was still able to show the drama happening in the lives of Meena and Manju. Meena has repeatedly been beaten lately for her behavior and with the influential death of Fatima and her own past suicide attempt, her future actions seem to be unpredictable. This really puts a lot of pressure on Manju. The self-conflict consists of either not making a spectacle of Meena and possibly lose her to suicide or to seek help for her and lose her as a friend after she becomes a social pariah. I feel that most of us has been challenged with a tough decision like this; it may not have been to the extreme of death but a lose/lose situation.
