First 9 pages response - Mr. wIlson's Cabinet of Wonder

It's a bizarre opening. I've never quite experienced an opening such as this. It jumps through time and subject in sporadic leaps and the reader is left trying to connect the dots. Once we reach the point at which Mr. Welscher enters the story, coming upon the Museum of Jurassic Technology, we have a set up that has all to do with infection and infatuation, as well as a general atmosphere of the bizarre. Considering the title of the novel, "mr. Wilson's Cabinet of Wonder", this seems appropriate: "wonder" is already defined by the examples we open with, bizarre tales of mysterious occurrences in deeply wild places. Infatuation being a theme already established, we can expect something similar, perhaps, from Mr. Welscher as he begins his examination/journey into the Cabinet of Wonder.
